Laminaria Saccharina is a brown algae traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Laminaria Saccharina has soothing and decongestant properties on irritated and inflamed skin. It helps to increase skin moisture levels while improving the appearance of the skin and helping to regulate the functions of the sebaceous gland. Its hydrophilic properties have the ability to form a protective film on the skin surface to help protect the skin from external aggressors making it very suitable for sensitive, allergic, irritated, ageing and oily skin types.

Hammamelis Water is a skin soothing botanical with antioxidant properties, it is known for its anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic activity especially in mucus membranes. Its astringent and hemostatic properties help the skin to repair broken skin and fight bacteria.

Rosemary belongs to the Lamiaceae plant family. The plant is common in the whole Mediterranean region and is highly treasured due to its antibacterial effect. Panthenol is the pro-vitamin of D Panthothenic acid (Vitamin B5), which plays a key role in the human intermediary metabolism. Deficiency of Vitamin B5 can result in many dermatological disorders. Panthenol works as a deep penetrating moisturiser, it encourages epithelisation while providing an anti-inflammatory effect.

Iceland Moss is native to cold and mountainous areas of Europe. Salicylic acid is a BHA that occurs naturally in plants such as willow bark. It is oil soluble so when applied topically it penetrate into pores which contain sebum and dissolves comedone formations that are blocking or restricting pore respiration. Inside pores, salicylic acid neutralises remnant acne bacteria and constricts pore diameter, forcing drainage through the pore opening to restore natural spatial structure. Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties helps reduce comedones and inflamed lesions such as papules, pustules, nodules and cysts, it also works as a keratolytic chemical exfoliant resulting in the desquamation of the epidermis to remove dead surface skin cells, promoting dermal matrix regeneration and an improved texture and tone of treated skin. Vitamin C Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate has brightening, antioxidant, UV protection properties. It improves percutaneous absorption and stability, promoting collagen synthesis and inhibiting lipid per-oxidation. Moreover, it inhibits collagen- degrading enzymes, thus activating collagen synthesis helping to maintain skin elasticity and firmness through encouraging collagen fibres within the skin matrix which act as the skin’s structural support.
